Golden Milk Turmeric Latte (using turmeric powder)
"Turmeric Latte using turmeric powder" - I know what you're thinking. You're thinking you're better than the "easy cop-out version", ready to take on the challenge of the turmeric root. I was like you once. Live and learn. It takes needlessly longer time to grate the turmeric root and add in a step with your blender (plus cleaning-up all the bright yellow goop afterward). And once your kitchen counter, pots, pans, blender, whisk, cups and everything else turns yellow forever, the "cop-out" version looks pretty good!
Here's a quick and easy, 5-minute-max, busy-morning-tested version of the popular golden milk turmeric latte.
Anti-Inflammatory, Detoxing Golden Milk Turmeric Latte
(makes enough for 1)
1 tbsp ground turmeric (CORRECTION: 1 tsp ground turmeric)
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1-2 tsp honey or syrup of your choice
1 cup milk of your choice (I'm using regular cow's milk, but you can use coconut, oat, soy, whatever floats your boat)
Combine everything into a pot. Stir well and carefully bring to a boil. If you like, use a whisk or milk-frother to create foam. Optional: serve with cinnamon stick for extra flavor.
You'll get enough of the health benefits from using turmeric and ginger powder instead of the roots. But if you're up for the challenge, just substitute the roots for the powder, add all the ingredients to your blender and give it a whizz before adding to the pot to bring to the boil.
Enjoy!
